Glaurung for the iPod Touch and iPhone?

On March 6 2008, Apple finally released its long awaited SDK for the iPod Touch and the iPhone. I would like to see my chess program run on these devices, and have already started working on reducing the memory requirements of Glaurung in order to facilitate a port. Unfortunately, however, it looks like it will only be possible to distribute applications through Apple, and Apple demands USD 99 per year from every developer for distribution of applications.

I am therefore considering a commercial version of Glaurung for Apple's handheld devices. The complete source code will of course be available for download from this web site, but in order to download and install an executable on your iPod, you would have to pay a few dollars.

Before I embark on the considerable work of porting Glaurung and designing a nice GUI, I would like to make sure the market for such a program is at least big enough to cover the annual expense of USD 99.
